Notes on making.
Better late than never - here’s what I was up to in March & April!
Projects I worked on:
Tour merch for Alberta artist, Skinny Dyck 🎵
Ryan Dyck (a.k.a. Skinny Dyck) and I created some fun t-shirt artwork to take on the road! Very aware of the cheekiness of the project name, Ryan wanted to riff on this ongoing “inside joke.” He wanted to see some options in a classic work wear style, so I had fun delving into classic brand visual history - brands and signage for small garages and automotive shops, Levis, Ford, etc.
Here are some rejected concepts and the chosen design we went forward with screenprinting.
Welcome to Mural Season:
Last spring at this time I was painting barriers as a part of BUMP 2025. These muralled barriers are placed around the city and recently I spotted my barriers in the wild for the 2026 season outside Calgary mainstay, Lukes Drug Store in Bridgeland!
Here’s a video I put together on my reflection of the painting process in 2025.
If you have a space at home that you think could use a bit of colour (think home office wall, garage door, etc.) please get in touch to chat about mural ideas and get a quote :)
Coming Up:
I’m excited to partner with my NVRLND. studio neighbour and super talented artist, Cassie Suche to paint a custom mural for our neighbourhood thermal spa, opening soon in Ramsay. Stay tuned for visuals on this project.
An update on Feeling Fine Signs!
We’ve taken the plunge and begun the soft launch of this sign painting brand 🔴 🔵 🟡 I’ve been enjoying disappearing into the creative wormhole, completing a vibrant and minimal website, and I’m looking toward screenprinting very fun merch for an official launch!
Follow us over at Instagram - so grateful for your support of the launch of this brand that’s been percolating for so many years.
Big thanks as always for supporting my work.
See you next month,
Jen ➰
